Green Memorial Prize

Written by Dene Macleod

Daniel French, one of our Swinburne University IBL Engineers, recently won the prestigious FW Green Memorial prize, awarded to the best final year student in an Engineering Undergraduate program.
The FW Green Memorial Prize was established in 1962, by the former Swinburne College of Technology as a perpetual memorial to Mr FW (Fred) Green, a former director of Swinburne College of Technology from 1928-1950.
For his efforts Daniel received $300, a certificate (see copy attached) and free attendance at four Institute of Civil Engineering functions over the next 12 months.
As an aside, a presentation was given on the night by Warrick Plymin from Aurecon. Warrick is the Project Lead on the Margaret Court Arena Redevelopment, where Geotech did the piling. Daniel assured me he did his best to ensure more Aurecon work comes our way.
The photo below is of Daniel with Dominic Brown, who is the Chairman of the Institute.

Congratulations Daniel!
