Project Scope

A $10m redevelopment of Melbourne's largest tram interchange, the project was completed in a 10 day occupation. Tram operations servicing about 25,000 passengers per day were maintained throughout the works using 4 no. temporary tram stops with turn-back facilities using temporary crossovers. The works included 2 no. 66m long double-sided DDA compliant platforms; 10 no. turnouts, seven being automated; and the complete reconstruction of the intersection and traffic signalling system.
