Vinnies Soup Vans operate where the need is greatest in capital cities and regional centres, providing a light meal, tea or coffee and cold drinks from Monday to Friday between 5.30pm and 6.30pm. It also provides an opportunity to build friendships with people, who are experiencing homelessness or isolation.
The service would not operate without the generous support of many volunteers, sponsors, donors and suppliers.
So to do our bit, once a month on a Saturday, volunteers and mechanics from the Geotech Group clean and service the Vinnie Soup Vans in our workshop in Port Melbourne.
Our first clean for 2014 occurred on Saturday, 8 February and, given the max. temperature was 41°C, the team was pretty happy to get wet.

The Geotech Group has always believed in giving back to the community and the cleaning and servicing of the vans is our way of making a difference to the lives of people who need it most.
